Hej! It is kinda a few months late, but I still wanted to write a short blogpost about my visit to Helsingør (Denmark) around Christmas/New Years and again in summer, because this city is where this whole thing kinda started.

For everyone who doesn't know about Helsingør: It is a city located on the island in the eastern part of Denmark called "Sjælland" (Zealand). The city is very known for its castle "Kronborg". It is so famous, because it is said that Shakespeares' "Hamlet" was written in this castle. If you take a visit to the city center you will notice many things being named Hamlet. Stores, blacksmiths, hotels and many other things. Another reason why the city location is so special is because it is located at the most narrow point of "Øresund". Øresund is the strait between Denmark and Sweden. It also connects the Baltic Sea with Kattegat. Right across the water you will already be in Sweden, in the city called Helsingborg. Compared to the bridge in Copenhagen, that connects Denmark to Sweden (Copenhagen and Malmö), Helsingør has a ferry that brings you across the water. You can travel by foot or by car. And it is a really busy travel route for workers and tourists. Helsingør and the surrounding villages have a beautiful shoreline that enchants me everytime I visit!

I love Helsingør. It's a really beautiful and nice small city, with a lots of things see. My boyfriend spent most of his years in the neighborhood of Helsingør, which is the reason why we come here often to visit his family. Everytime we are here we take trips to the water. Helsingør has a beautiful shoreline you can take a walk along. You see many people taking their dog for a walk or jogging alongside the water or take a dip into the icecold water in winter to strengthen their bodies against the cold northern weather.

Just being here for a short time is so soothing and relaxing. Filling up your lungs with the fresh air just gives you the feeling of being reborn. Next time I will go there I'm making sure to take some more photos of the city center and attrections you can see here and even videos to show you!

Harbor So how did I get here... When we went to the beach I actually thought about that I should take more photos and videos of these beautiful places I'm going to. I didn't start traveling at all before I met my boyfriend who lived in Denmark back then. And I was on the search of a new hobby, because I wanted to do something in my free time that brings me joy. Visitting Denmark and Sweden is actually what made me want to take my hobby more serious and actually DO something creative. The culture and nature gives me so much motivation and energy evertime I visit. It is really hard to describe this in words. Personally I feel like I'm being trapped in my hometown. Living in one of the biggest and busiest cities sometimes can feel like it is crushing me, with no room to escape the noise and stress that is happening around you ALL the time.

I'm working hard on fulfilling my dreams, which is to live in the beautiful nature of Scandinavia. I can't really describe it, but there is something special about the culture, nature and society that makes me want to see more and get to know more about their history, culture, society and customs.

My goal for this year is to learn some basic Danish! Even though I can communicate with most of my boyfriends family in English it would be great if I could speak some basic Danish, especially for the elder ones. I already started to do some classes on a phone app I found. My mother-in-law was so cute to gift me a Danish for Beginners book and some child books they had stored in their basement. It's already a good start to get into it! Since one of my dreams is to relocate to Scandinavia (Denmark) it would already be great to speak the language.

But there are still many things to explore in Germany. So let's start our adventure here. Together!

Vi ses! (See you!)

Love, Diana.
